Job Title: Prekindergarten Classroom Aide

Reports to: Campus Principal

Location: In-Person, CASLV Nellis Campus – Las Vegas, NV

Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month (School Year)

 

Position Summary

The Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role assists with classroom activities, supervision, daily routines, and instructional support to help promote the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of Pre-K students.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Classroom Support

• Assist the teacher with implementing age-appropriate instructional activities and classroom routines
• Support students during individual, small group, and whole group instruction
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, supplies, and learning centers
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization

Student Supervision & Care

• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and restroom breaks
• Support students with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, and transitions
• Promote positive behavior and reinforce classroom expectations
• Ensure student safety at all times

Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support

• Encourage positive social interaction and emotional development
• Assist students in developing independence and self-help skills
• Support behavior management strategies directed by the teacher

Communication & Collaboration

• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Communicate concerns regarding student behavior, safety, or well-being to the teacher or administration

Other Duties

• Assist with school events and classroom activities as needed
• Participate in required trainings and professional development
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively with young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff
• Ability to supervise and engage students in a positive manner

Preferred:

• Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Previous experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities

Work Environment

The Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Aide works in an active classroom environment with frequent interaction with young children. The role requires standing, walking, bending, lifting classroom materials, and assisting students throughout the school day. Occasional outdoor supervision and participation in school activities may be required.
