Description

Behavior Interventionist have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

 

  • Working under the supervision of the Principal
  • Observing student behavior in various settings, such as the classroom, cafeteria, playground, or gymnasium to identify triggers that may lead to inappropriate behavior.
  • Performing functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
  • Communicating and supporting teachers and parents about student progress and behavioral strengths and weaknesses.
  • Creating and implementing behavior plans based on FBA data designed to help students improve behavior and learn new skills.
  • Communicate with parents to help them understand their child’s behavior, provide positive reinforcement for good behavior, and create a structured environment at home.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting the behavior plan as needed.
  • Supports the implementation of the behavior intervention plan by coaching and modeling interventions for teachers and aides.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars and other student support-related meetings.
  • Maintain visibility and accessibility on the school campus and at school-related activities and events during the workday.
  • Recognize indicators of disruption of the orderly conduct of the school and implement strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
  • Standard NV Board Certified Behavior Analysis certification is preferred.
